OVER WHELMED, NEW RULES FOR A SORT OUT...

So over whelmed by the number of unfinished projects and bags of small sample crochet.
What to do?
I had thought it a good idea to join all the bits and pieces together and make one giant bedspread
(I still think it a good idea, but...)
as I started to gather this and that together, then stood and looked at if for half an hour, over whelmed or what?

It was hanging on the curtain rail....
on the end of the sofa...
in bags...

and more bags...
on top of full bags....
under the cat...
and hanging on the maid...
so many half finished projects...

In fact so much half finished or bags of small sample stuff, I am totally stumped, how to sort out years of woolly thoughts?

Some I like, but aren't up to scratch.....keep? unpicking? remake?

Do I spend a WEEK undoing some of what I have made over the last few years and start again with new ideas?

So I have made a simple rule....
Badly made, doesn't work, or I don't like any more...unpick

Works and I still like...keep and finish

So instead of creating what I thought would be a great bed spread I am going to unpick and replenish my stash, then I can reassess what is left.

Good Job I love to winding wool! lol

Have a fun filled day everyone
hugs to all x

    1. Hi, oh wow! good to here from someone else who has the same problem as me lol
I just can't stop trying ides out, but never seem to finish most of it...why do we do it decided i have got to change or keep to one or two samples for each idea nd file them in a folder full of ideas to brows through. Like a coffee table book hehe
Need the cupboard space to get this place sorted, other half was complaining he couldn't sit down in here the other day. with out climbing over a mountain of woolly thought hehe

    1. Hehehehehe...ypou might be right there Annie but half of it I am now not happy with, mainly the hook size too big for the yarn I think, and a few wobbly squares...not good lol

  4. Oh Sue - what are you like?! I think you should call it crochet art and sell it on Etsy/Folksy/Ebay and then you will have loads of dosh to replenish your stash with! x Jo

  5. Wow...you have a lot to go through! Knowing me....I would sit down with the pile that I did not want and just start ripping things out and saving every bit of what I could.....I do this all the time. I never "throw" wool out!
    Good Luck! Shari ")

  6. Well, glad I'm not the only one with halfway and almost finished projects, and yarn for that matter. But they are all lovely.

  7. I think your rules make perfect sense for starting over with a fresh sense of what you really want to work on!

  8. Instead of ripping up all that hard work, I would finish off the "wobbly squares" and donate them to charity. Someone will appreciate them, they wont even see the wobbliness.

  9. You are funny, lol, and here I thought I was the QUEEN of Unfinished projects. How about framing the favorite ones and hanging them around the house or in your crafty work room, like in a grouping, now that would be nice and all your hard work and efforts would not be in vain.

  10. Goodness.. you are amazingly prolific! You could do some yarn bombing as art with some of the things you don't love... :-) Love your creativity! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  12. Ha! I think you've struck a chord with most of us crafters (although you may win a prize with the amount of unfinished projects you have)I used to keep mine and bring them out to look and stroke them every now and again (yes I fully admit I'm odd :D)I ended up throwing them away in an attempt to have a clear out. I really regret that now....I have no pretties left! I suppose I need to make some more UFO's (purposely of course!)

  13. Your UFOs are indeed over whelmed! BUT they are all so beautiful with lovely colors... thanks for sharing. At least I know that I am not the only one who have UFOs:)
