OLD 201O PATTERN...AFRICAN FLOWER AS A SQUARE

Just dug out my African Flower as a Square pattern form 2010, someone was asking for a square version...hope it helps

form June 2010 and the pattern

8 petals helps to start with...
add the corners
and you have a square...
bump on the one side is the weaving in of the ends only disappears when they are joined together.

I have almost finished the SHELL STITCH DIAGONAL Cushion
even did a few rows on my way to late lunch with friends lol, never waste crocheting time hey? lol
making up so quick this shell st pattern, I did start out with 4dc in each shell but it seemed a bit big, so changed to 3dc per shell and it has tightened up a little and I am happy with it....couldn't be bothered to unpick the 4 dc rows, but not obvious so thought it would be ok.
Ripple one next and then the other Moss st. one I am leaving until last, fab st, quick and easy but doesn't grow very quickly.

SHELL STITCH DIAGONAL CUSHION NOTES
5.5MM hook
2 strands of DK
17 shell each side of base chain so 34 in the round all together
to fit an 18 square cushion pad.

Quick trip out today to find the right buttons for all these Blue cushions, 4 for each cushion.
UPDATE: didn't make it to get buttons but I did manage to finish the shell stitch cushion

Hope the African Flower Square pattern is useful,
have fun xx
