  6. Sue - I am new to crocheting and am having trouble reading the pattern for the 9090 blanket. On block 1, round 2- when it says 3ch (counts as 1tr), (1tr, 4ch, 1tr, ) all into next dc - does it mean that I count the 3ch as the first 1tr in the parenthesis? So sorry to ask such a simple question.

    1. Hi Holly, yes the first ch sts, are the replacement tr to give the height you need to start a row...that's the same with all patterns ch stitches are always used for the first stitch what ever it might be 1ch for a dc, 2ch for a dc, 3 ch for a tr.
      Hope that helps x

    2. Hi Sue and Holly, I want to make a vintage-looking, colourful granny square blanket. Would the 9090 pattern work for a beginner? (I LOVE the colours) Or do you have other recommended patterns that are good for beginners? Thanks!
