no cats allowed unless we are in the room!!
now what do l add back into the room or find a new home for?
not sure about the plant?
definitely the light and table at the end of the sofa though....
picture needs moving to behind the sofa and a smaller picture hung at the end
the wrong feet were delivered for the chair too....gggrrrr!

l really wanted to keep this room simple and not clutter it with 'stuff'

Paint Pot calling but sharing the palm size pumpkin
stil experimenting with the stalk but a small piece of twiggy stuff works...
make a sc st circle and keep increasing until about 70 sc sts then do another 2"-3" of sc for sides
do a running st to gather it up then with the long ends stitch through the centre and round the pumpkin about 5 times sew off then add a stalk.....

still like the velvet ones best lol
already have the paint brush in my hand hehe
soggy to say the least here today!
Have a wonderful Wednesday

SLEEPY POST

Still up to my neck in primer and eggshell so much still to do downstairs l just thought l'd add
another paint job!.... hehe
l so wanted our bedroom sorted but it looked like it might have to wait until the new year and my subconscious was having a small crisis hehe...a panic attack thinking it wasn't going to be all prettied so l persuaded Phil we needed to add the wainscoting 'now' so l could paint it and finish the bedhead in the next few days....so £11 later and a few cuts to an 8' sheet of MDF later oh! and lots of masking tape to keep it from moving
we have a plain wall wainscoted hehe
TOMORROW....
few coats of paint and it will hopefully make me feel as happy as the lounge does...tiniest amount to do in the lounge and it will be finished and ready for the new sofa
second set of double doors still covered in yucky stuff though!...putting that one off a bit
but.....
FRENCH DOORS AND NEW WINDOW DATE...
the Kitchen wall will be cut out on Saturday and the old doorway bricked up some time in the next week and the new window and French doors in on the 28th October
Hooray!!!
AND...
l'm finding  few minutes to play hooky....a crochet pumpkin
Also found some sock yarn today at a very silly price so a new sock pattern will fill in the gaps!..what gaps?hehehe
what l'd really like is a display like this in Velvet...aren't they fabulous?
from SPROUT DESIGNS

FOR NOW THOUGH.....
l'm going to watch DOWNTON ABBEY.....so wanted to see it the other night but fell asleep after 5minutes l was soooooooo tired

RECLAMATION YARD update...
Fabulous place but a little pricy for us so back to the Auctions in a couple of weeks and see what we can find to be creative with from there

FOUND A GARAGE TO ROUTE IN CLOSER TO HOME

Printed a couple of labels found a few coffee jars to stick them on...

and then l went routing in some (still unopened) boxes in the room above the garage......found a couple of trays one finished and the other having only a coat of white paint.....must have been done about 12years ago
also found a box of artificial flowers too....almost something for every season
second tray was completely finished in a soft verdigris all chipped and distressed....
and l only looked in a couple of boxes....wonder what else is hiding up there?

Hugs all xx

NOTHING BUT WHITE PAINT TO BE SEEN...WONDERFUL

Painting about 4/5 hours a day right now....it's so relaxing with the radio for company l  feel really chilled
Lots of time to think plan and make decisions

OLD BOTTLES AND PRINTED LABELS
need to look for some old bottles and l know just the place so may take a couple of hours off and take a trip to Dagfields
bit further to go now we have moved but worth the journey
going to add a label or two to the finds
and l want a bowl of hand made soaps and there is a Soap shop at Dagfields
oops sorry didn't keep the link to this picture...but isn't it lovely full of hand made soaps?
and if l can find something tallish and turquoise...
or may be cut glass...
mmm fingers crossed

DOUBLE DOOR KNOBS...need 8 as the doors are only push ones
l'm thinking of adding old glass knobs to the double doors instead of the modern door handles
lets see what l can find!
Suns out but gone real cold...Autumn definitely slipping into place
Hugs All have a super Sunday xx

THE BITS YOU DON'T SEE GOT PAINTED TODAY

Light had gone in the under stair cubby....that got fixed this morning and it had very little paint on the walls so decided to give it a make over too hehe...just a coat of paint has made such a difference!

Just needs a Carpet to finish the job lol

would look even better with a cover to all the meters etc hehe but Phil says l'm taking it too far! hehehe

Removed a few of the old door handles this morning and seems like the original door handles had round bases too....
so filed the holes and primed and ready for glossing when everything is dry...tomorrow?

can't believe the doors were painted with the handles on!!!!!!!!
making progress slowly hehe
hugs xx

SORRY SORRY SORRY......

CHRISTMAS
l know what you're thinking but as a crafter you have to plan early for Christmas
Meal with Dave and Alison on Tuesday the conversation turned to Christmas..l asked what would be there favourite time if they could have a perfect Christmas?
Alison wanted to go away and Dave wanted to have a chill out time doing nothing
I suggested they come to us for a week laughing we suggested a PJ party for Christmas day...hehe
THEY LOVED THE IDEA
Alison gets to go away and they are good enough friends to chill easily at our house so Dave will get his chill out time too
PLANS MADE FOR CHRISTMAS!
Inspirational collage for Christmas....my mind has been planning for a couple of weeks now
lounge will need blues and greens, black and white this year
going to make more loo roll stars and what can l do with all those wool cones?...mmmm

DISCOVERY!
the local Wilkinsons has an upstair!!....on the way up l noticed some really great priced door handles....as we need 12 sets decided they would be just perfect...only had 6 sets but more will be in, in less than a week...
just under £9 per set
AND A GREAT THRIFTY FIND
picked up 3 smaller serving plates from a charity shop for £1.98. A real bargain and the perfect size for a melon or a joint of something for Christmas and one to decorate for the mantle perhaps?
undercoat finished on the  fireplace and the bath tidy so a top coat of eggshell will sort them out
BUT most excited about the new door handles..
so TODAY'S ACTION PLAN is to fill and sand and undercoat all the doors down stairs today then everything will need a gloss top coat

ARE YOU A LIFE PLANNER?
Do you plan your life?...not in stone 'cos it often changes but do you know where you are going from day to day? l couldn't live without a life plan....something to aim at keeps me going.....
I NEED TO KNOW....
what's happening next week next month in 6 months a year 2yrs... a life map to follow gets things done!

everything down stairs needs to be finished by mid October
then we'll have a small kitchen to fit some where else for someone else...take about a week...
then back to sort the 2 bedrooms out for James' night's out stop overs and  Christmas guests....then all the decorations finished off and hung ....
Christmas sorted!
hehe...sorry again for mentioning it so early...just can't help being a planner!

BERTIE UPDATE....
he had Rhinoplasty!.....recovery slow!!
Original yellow paintwork...one day he will be yellow again

filler and sandpaper calls....cya ll soon
Hugs xx

A LITTLE BIT OF WOOD AND 3 HOURS LATER...

Real quick 'cos we're having a meal with friends and need to get going but thought l'd
share a bit of wood with you hehehe...
and believe it or not we bought this band saw for wood projects on this day 12months ago to the day!!...funny or what?
l'd seen one and thought l'd like one of those for all the bits and pieces so did some measuring made a template found the wood and plugged in the band saw.....marked with a nail and drilled a few holes cut the dowels to length and glued the whole thing together
fits perfectly don't ya think?......

let the glue dry and then a coat or two of paint and bob's ya uncle l have a bath tray
almost free from bits of wood in the garage but great fun to make and easy too with a great band saw
Bye for now hugs all xx

I'VE BEEN FEATURED....

...Our Best of The Web.....link here
THANKS

SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW DAY YESTERDAY!
Removed the leading..easy peasy.....removed the film...still easy peasy....
BUT
this time all the gummy stuff was left behind and that was where it went to pot! hehe

A nightmare even Nitromores wasn't shifting it like last time...and l didn't have enough strength to rub hard so gave up on that job for now
We sat for a while loving the new layout of the rooms listening to the radio and reading the latest Country Living and a few back copies too....great magazine

very cosy then l found some energy from some where and....
MOVED ONTO PAINTING
The Wainscott panelling and the 1st set of doors with undercoat......not sure it's worked on the door panels though might need to rethink how l attach the paper to the glass panels or use actual wood....
looks a bit wrinkly this morning!!!....bum
Did wonder if that's what might happen

MY MIND WANDERED.....
been thinking of ART WORK for the wall behind the 7' sofa that should arrive about the
20th October can't wait for that so the second phase of the playtime starts

THINKING...l know dangerous...
circles on a large canvas of all the blues lime white and black patterns l can find and like?
something like this maybe......
 from IN MY OWN STYLE.....
this is made from tissue paper so has a great texture too
a great blog with fab ideas worth a peek
OR
l might just stick with the flower collages l make but in the right colours..like this
or this...
or this...
or this...
or this...
mmmmmm not sure but something will emerge l'm sure
Trip to Library today and a bit more painting l hope
Have a terrific Tuesday all
hugs xx

UPDATE: just found this on  PAISLEY PEACOCK love it love it love it...

AND THE LIST GETS LONGER!

Didn't get in the garden didn't do any painting and didn't make the Butternut Soup either!!...trip to get cat food and a visit and meal with James was on the menu yesterday and now l have today's jobs to add
TOP OF THE LIST
Stripping the second set of double doors so they match the lounge set.....shouldn't take too long now we know how to remove the gummy stuff.....
then paint everything and make the soup for lunch
GARDEN...
l'm afraid the garden will have to wait a while longer so that should shorten the 'TO DO' list and we can
catch up a bit

White everything makes for a simple life...no thinking will red look better than yellow or pink or......or...
when thinking is stressful white is best...my new mantra lol

All those new healthy nibbles seem to be making me wee a lot hehe sorry to get personal
or may be it was all the hot lemon and Manuka honey (another medical/food l would never be without..bit of a miracle is Manuka) and lime juice l drank yesterday?

SLIPPED UP ONCE....two cream biscuits with a cuppa mid morning...oops

My Orchid is looking fabulous don't ya think?...hehe  l did rescue it from the brink of death and it's had about 4/5 flowers on it but the pink is the last one
So l'll be trimming the stem a little and feeding it more so next year it blooms even better...
now l know what to do with it...always helps don't you think?
Mean while l'll do a Winter cheat with the white beauty!

Have a marvellous Monday All
hugs xx
oops ps....l finished my grey bobble stitch socks too.....
