Another early Birthday present from Phil, 

l really did need a new phone so he got me a Balckberry 

I had put off trying it out, thought it would be so hard to use but I plugged it in the morning and l have already sent mail from it via Hotmail and I can access my blog and Face book too.....also added pictures to phone numbers...wow! 

What with a Kindle, which l must say is absolutely fabulous, decide on a book and 30 seconds later it is ready to read and now a Blackberry as well

Never thought I would master all this technology 

Thank you Phil, thank you, thank you, thank you, you make my life perfect xx

MY MANTRA FOR TODAY...

The more you dislike doing something, the more often you should do it!

and I will procrastinate and just do the nice stuff far too often so today is D day for something l have been putting off, because it felt too difficult to do

Not mine but this picture reminded me of a cheap way to up date your nick-knacks...spray paint and what you have or a few charity shop finds in the right shape and size

Afternoon update


Well I made a start and have jumped the first hurdle, wasn't easy to do but l turned off the heating, sat at my new table and spread out the paper work, made 5 cups of tea and knuckled down
Now I can relax just a little bit for now


Off to read one of the books on my Kindle before they start to pile up, cause me stress and never get read!

READY WITH THE SUNGLASSES?

My Birthday (very early) present arrived this morning...and l do love a splash of colour

Need to re-do the shelf behind with a few bright splashes to make it all work, I'm sure l can find a few bits and pieces about the house to do the job

Saarinen Tulip table and Panton Chairs

The Table is quite a bit bigger (120cms diameter) than the old table but because it is round with a centre leg, it takes up a much smaller space 

If we moved the chairs a bit we could easily fit 5 chairs around it......

a pink one l think, to complete the splash...very comfy with a bit of a bounce to them lol

The publisher want to use her in the photos for the book...and a couple of people have asked to see pictures of our pride and joy...

EXPERIENCE OVER POSSESSIONS?

Psychological research suggests that, in the long run, experiences make people happier than possessions.

Yes l can agree with that one

That's in part because the initial joy of acquiring a new object, such as a new car, fades over time as people become accustomed to seeing it every day.

Doesn't that depends on the possession?

they took 10 days to open...a wonderful experience every day

Experiences, on the other hand, continue to provide happiness through memories long after the event occurred.

That's why all us happy hookers are fabulously happy then?

a ball of wool,  a hook (a possession) and get many hours of pleasure from creating (an experience)

Moral to this story lol... invest in a possession that become great experiences

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?

Playing hooky, plants and flowers do it for me, what possessions that become experiences

 make you happy?

Remember back in September when.....

I spoke of a new dining room table and chairs for Bakewell?

we were looking at a white circular table and 4 different coloured chairs

after looking at lots we decided on a white Tulip table designed by Eero Saarinen in the 50's

 and a blue, orange, red, and lime green Panton 'S' chair by Verner Panton designed in 1967 

so excited......they are on order

Bought for me as an early Birthday present form Phil he couldn't wait for my birthday to order it lol

We have found a lovely new home for my old white painted square table and chairs

off for a walk soon
