THE TELFORD MURAL..

The Telford Mural...to celebrate whats great about Telford and Shropshire, it's been painted all this week and i've been trying to go and see it all week, I eventually managed to get there today. All linked and supported by Radio Shropshire and BIG Red's House..

It's a drop in talk centre.....open to everyone and we all could do with that on occasions couldn't we?

no idea if these sheep were added after we were all being asked for suggestions of what to include......I said Shropshire Sheep should be include as we have out own breed of Sheep!
ALL THE PEOPLE AND PLACES IMPORTANT TO SHROPSHIRE PEOPLE

I had time for a little bit of shopping too....I made the most of my time as i don't get over to Telford Shopping Centre that often.

Granny Squares and Batik

My first book, Granny Squares, has been  nominated for best crochet book in the Let's Knit Magazine British Knitting Awards 2016 voting is still open so hope you will vote for me?

There is stiff competition, but i'm so chuffed to have been nominated. To write a book when I retired was always a life times ambition, to have 2 published is wonderful and to now have my first nominated for best crochet book is over whelming to say the least.

Playing around with the camper blanket pattern on page 80 and the stone washed Stylecraft Batik yarn right now...so I also use my own book too and the motif takes on a completely new look with the Batik

same motif as i used for my latest shopper... I just lengthened the stitch a little and is made in Cottons

 a hex version too...
The Camper Blanket from the book, in the background....
The Shopper, already been well used, hanging on the chair at the front door, waiting for its next trip out

Purple Crossed Granny Squares Blanket....into Flower Batik

Remember this from January I think I posted this picture, one from my book?
I ran out of the one colour of Merino..came across it in a sort out the other day and wondered what it it or something similar would look like in the stone washed Batik wool yarn?......still don't have the colour i wanted so played around with the idea a little in the batik

Love the secondary pattern that appears when you join similar coloured granny squares together

Tried several flowers but the Anemone flower from another pattern was the     winner for me

   What do you think?.....
   and into a blanket....

   No Edge stitch yet...

Turned into a Granny Square
