A Lot of Sadness here right now burying myself in Posh Frock ideas....

Sad times for lots this week, l've buried myself in wool and hook and worked on Posh Frock ideas...really not sure about all flowers or one colour?
Pastels might be an option, loved the silk yarn but didn't like it after washing, it went a bit flat so back to the drawing board....
Dug out the Colourmart 100% Merino in lots of pale colours and that washes brilliantly and looks very like cotton what do you think?...
circles, squares, same all over, or mix the motifs...one colour, lots of colours, or 2 colours...l'll get there soon l hope!
looks quite good as an all over piece less fussy on me may be?...

SAD TIMES....
Like most people l've been watching the tragic happenings in Japan my heart goes out to all caught up in this total disaster so so sad

LOST SOLDIER
Also the latest soldier to be killed from the Irish Guards we know
so very very sad, Carly and Stephen lost their baby daughter of 7 days less than a year ago and now Carly has lost her beloved Hero too
can't tell you how sad we have been in the last few days
RIP STEPHEN you will be Sadly missed

A Soldier

There is discipline in A Soldier
you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier
you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier
you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier
that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier
that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier
that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man
can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man
buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after
an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier
even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first
and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what
comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian -
I am saying this to you.....
next time you see A Soldier
remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land
is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave
protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier -
I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER
Thank God for what YOU do!

A couple more flowers added to the Jacket

almost finished the two fronts and the top row across the back...not sure about this one though might be just too much pattern and colour as a jacket lol So it might just end up as another camper blanket!

and a few more medallions.....
Chain and 1st round DK single strand and a 6mm hook
2nd round 2 strands of DK in two colours and a 6mm hook
6 chain sl st to close
Round 1: 1 dc in each st total of 16 dc (USA) trebles (UK) sl st to close
Round 2: 2dc in each st and sl st to close
Join as you go with 2 sts every 4th stitch and into the back of the stitch only
Some l did with half DC on the second round instead of the dc thicker and slightly more raised but preferred the dc

Enjoy your evening everyone
Hugs x

WOKE UP WITH THIS IDEA IN MY HEAD...

so l just had to do something with it didn't l?....
sort of a scarf collar is emerging....not a full day's crochet but l have what l think will be half of it finished yesterday....ran out of the grey DK wool and not sure where l bought it
so a hunt is on!
The outer band is James Brett Chunky Marble...soooo soft and l love this wool...not my usual bright colour but l can see this medallion made in some brights as well....a ceramic picture l have could be the inspiration for the next one!
sorry l forgot where it came from

Slipped a couple of the medallions into the Posh Frock ideas....was thinking a totally flowery dress might not be really me but it's growing in ideas by the day lol
Excuse the scruffy yellowy looking me pic's taken late last night but it gave an idea of the medallion size better...and the 1st picture is a good colour representation
mmmm...another idea just struck me, a jacket for the winter may be?

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone
Hugs to all x

PURE SILK....

It was really my first choice and when l saw this cone of  pale shimmery lime Silk...well it jumped into my hands...l'd found my Posh Frock yarn!
it's just perfect, exactly what l wanted and the cone l have will be almost enough to make my Posh Frock too!
Tried the Linen and a cotton mix called Shiny Cotton....love the yarns but the silk won my heart
the blue is the linen...quite a coarse yarn but makes a lovely crisp flower
Colourmart is an Aladdin's cave of yummy yarns....so lucky to have it on my doorstep

Sweet Dreams everyone
Hugs xx
