OPEN TOP BUS TOUR AND HOLES...

Well the second sock fits now, but not as happy with it as with the Bergere Yarn,
so for now shelving the Zig Zag yarn

I've made 2 complete pairs of socks this week plus one and a half of my favourite, Bergere and 1 and a half of a not so favourite
So Today it's....
A day out today Railway Museum and an open topped bus tour

My Crochet thoughts have turned to
2 new Summer weight yarns I bought at
 Black  Sheep Wools

Debbie Bliss: Juliet, A Summer Tweed
and
Louise Harding: Noema

and a few holes....

and the mesh stitches

and this moss stitch wave from early 2013

or even this small 'HOLE' triangle sample...

Last couple of days then home again and playtime will have to stop

ALWAYS PATTERN CHECK...

Always pays to double check your pattern.

The new Harrogate Sox Pattern

made in Bergere and a 3.5mm hook..perfect fit, close but it went on OK and it felt comfortable

I thought the addition of maybe just a couple more stitches would give it a tiny bit more easy
BEFORE POSTING THE PATTERN....
Thought I would try the same pattern in this yarn before I shared the pattern

Using the same.....Harrogate Sox Pattern with this yarn it wasn't big enough at the top of the sock

Totally useless the top won't go over my heel...
exactly the same pattern and hook size but in this yarn it won't fit...

JUST RIPPED IT BACK TO THE HEEL
see if i can make it fit in this yarn, its perfect up to the top of the heel but after that useless!
In Bergere..perfect fit in this one no fit at all!!

Always pays to check your pattern in different yarns,
before sharing...
or
Only make the particular yarn for that pattern, not something I would be happy with myself
I would want house the same pattern in different yarn..wouldn't you?

The Harrogate Sox..mark 2

Just couldn't wait until i got back to try the next version of my tube sox,
so on a visit to Harrogate yesterday I looked out for a wool shop...eventually found
Samuel Taylor's
in Commercial Street that did some Sock Yarns
Bought 2 different yarns but using this Bergere sock yarn and I bought a 3.5 hook,
not the hook it says but i didn't want it too tight a stitch.

The 3mm I bought in York was just too small, it was making the sock yarn i found at the bottom of my yummy yarn bag I had brought with me very hard.
Loving the colours in this yarn reminds me of the sea and rock pools.

I've called these
The Harrogate Sox
as i bought the yarn in Harrogate and started the first sock there too.

A different stitch,
different yarn,
different hook.....pattern to come tomorrow I hope

so the 32hdc sts, of the
York Rainbow Sox
PATTERN HERE

changed to 32sc for this sock, but it just wasn't quite big enough for my foot.

Mark2
It went on my foot, but was a little tight so I added 2 more stitches for mark 2

34sc: perfect for my size 4/5 foot and a 3.5mm hook
this sock is also a tube sock with an inbuilt heel shaping another really easy and fast to make crochet sock...

when you get to the top its completely finished
