We all had such a fabulous Crochet Camping get together weekend at
Forest Fields camp site 
a couple of weeks back and got a lot of the #lovemanchesterblanket joined together. 

We all decided it was such a great idea we would squeeze in another weekend this year

Actually we have enough to do 2 complete la karts and a 3rd knitted one and a 4th crochet square one with a few more squares added

 All laid out on the grass in the fabulous sunshine...it shone all weekend for us all

Camper Coat Update: I now know APPROX. how many squares i need 20 wide by 9 rows I'm just over half way across with 3 rows, and all the coloured centres now done, just need to use the 15 minute rule and join the all together.

CHRISTMAS ROSE...sorry i know its months away but!

This is going to be a  freebie motif for you all...

I have just done 4 designs for 

Simply Crochet

to pick one, they picked the one i thought was most suitable for the Christmas projects, leaving 3 for me to use freely.

 A number of Designers are working on small projects for a Christmas issue. 

I know that you will all be groaning, lol......but these things have to be done early for Magazines.

I have also designed a fab 6 foot Wrap for Simply Crochet, in Scheepjes Secret Garden 

coming soon, i will let you know what issue it will be in asap.

So this Freebie is one of the 4 designs and i haven't done a new free pattern for you for a bit so here it is..

Christmas Rose, can be made in Aran for a bigger chunkier look or dk for the more 
delicate feel.

In  4 colours if you do them all the same as the pictures shown,
 but could  be made with every Christmas Rose [round 2] in a different colour

Still making samples and playing with the pattern but it will be a freebie soon.

Camper Coat, Magic Balls and the 15Minute Rule...

The Camper Coat has grown but not a fast as it should have...3 rows of squares and about half way across the coat at the minute.

Thanks Chris for starting me off with the sort out,  promise I am using the 15minute rule and doing a little every day but its a huge job and not going as fast as it did while you were here, thats for sure, lol. 
Every box i open i find something interesting that hasn't been complete....just so many projects i want to do and not enough hours in the day so again, its back to the 15minute rule and some more Magic Balls too. HERE to see the original post 


Lots of ends of balls to play with thats for sure...

All sorts of uses for these when you crochet especially when you do motifs and use lots ofsxall quantities to make motifs

I'm using lots in the camper coat only a couple of metres if that in each centre circle in a rainbow of colours

the grey version is using US Terms dc but the black and white tweedy look i settled on was slightly more open and i used US tr.

 join as you go in the spaces only

 a little bit quicker than joining every st.

Definitely more effort needed though to complete this Ruana/Kimono/Jacket for next winter, can you believe we are well into July already? 

and for this wearable item I'm making it sleeveless a bit like a Celtic Ruana, i've been wearing a woven black and oatmeal checked one all last winter and love it.

Simple, wide enough not to need a sleeve and goes over everything  a Ruana really should be open at the sides but mine is going to be stitched up so I suppose it could be a sort of Kimono Style, possibly.

Thank you for all the support of late as i haven't been around as much as i should have. What with illness and falling down stairs etc..all on the mend now though.

VIKING LUCET CORDS

Doing some Medieval research this morning I cam across a Lucet tool...further research it all became clear, Lucet cords were the product of this tool and you can make a crochet version too.

Just had to have a go with what was to hand....a simple and easy to make crochet cord if you don't have a Lucet tool.

Lots of uses were suggested for this sightly stretchy cord...fine for shoe laces, up to thicker cords for bag handles...sounds like an interesting project for the future
