3rd/4th REMAKE....AND AN ADDICTION TO CIRCLES?

Well l made another mistake on the Blue Moon...oops so again wasn't happy with it and having made another cushion (circles are my favourites) and on finding a blended mixed yarn sample l'd done months ago in 2010
l'm on the 3rd....no the 4th remake of Blue Moon....tried an oval before the circle
promise this is definitely the final Blue Moon but it may be another drawstring cushion and not a blanket!
up at 5 yesterday everything normal nothing at 6 nothing at 7 back in bed for a while then up again at 8 opened the curtains to find we had had a good covering of snow yet again...aaarrrh!
rained by afternoon though so it had all gone by evening and nothing this morning
Makes you want to...
Batten down the hatches...pull up the drawbridge.....stock the freezer to the hilt....
love that feeling don't you?
Fire burning bright and knowing you are all snug and cosy in your own little castle hehe

have a super Saturday everyone
glad the calendars are arriving safely
Hugs all x
all safe and sound warm and snug

HUGE DRAWSTRING CUSHION and ANEMONE LIGHT

Inspired by a fellow crochet blog Haken...en meer
a Dutch girl and a fabulous crochet artist adore her sofa picture it inspired me to try her circular cushion
l'd like to do a bedroom makeover to look like her cosy sofa

DRAWSTRING VERSION
I finished my larger drawstring version of her cushion late last night

goes well with the other two on the sofa in my craft room l think...
the old ones are looking a bit worse for wear, they are well over 12months old and regularly slept on by the furballs
bit dark but taken late last night and it hasn't got a cushion inside it yet

BIT BARE....
After taking all the Christmas decorations down every where looks a bit bare so l added a couple of Anemones to the vase light

UNFINISHED PROJECT....
I found ONE box of half finished project that have inspired me to finish them and get creative but
Blue Moon to finish first
and then l think the ripple blanket...
almost covers out 6' bed but still have a few rows to do...never again will l make anything so big!

Enjoy your day everyone
hugs xx
UPDATE: Asked permission first but Claire has kindly given me permission to use her sofa photograph to show you how wonderful it is
Thanks Claire
Isn't it gorgeous?...
don't think l have quite got the colours right in my drawstring version but as close as l could get without buying MORE yarn! lol
hugs to Claire xx

BIT OF SPRING CLEANING LED TO A RAMBLING YARN

Packed away the Christmas decorations scrapped the melted wax off the mantle and ended up tidying my work room too....space to be creative again now
Do you have a lot of these...
 unfinished experiments?....
really don't know what to do with them all even starting to pile up on my chair too!
Tidied up a few scrappy half balls into neat little rounds with the winder
But what to make with them now?

REMAKE WAS ALL DONE BEFORE 10....
Over night remake was mostly done before l slept lol.....lights out at 10 last night....and l finished the last 4 rows at 5 when the alarm went off...so l do sleep girls lol
l told you it made up quickly using the 12mm hook

been looking at what l've made over the last 18months and what l like the best
circles are some of my favourites..along with flowers of course

made a lot of these simple scarf/necklaces too warm and versatile..
and fun....
felted beads are an interesting playtime along with felted rings...

cowls a very quick project and make great presents

this blue one went to a friends Mum for Christmas
and l've made rows and rows of flowers...lol
this one is a real favourite and great when they are layered with simple stars
one of my favourite blankets....
lots of luverly colours and l didn't get bored making it either!
and ooops not even sure where this one is right now?
couple of interesting experiments that l never did anything with.....and we are only up to July
hope you enjoyed the trip down memory lane.....

Really should finish some of the unfinished 2010 projects in 2011
but l think l said SOMETHING SIMILAR last new year too! lol

Enjoy your evening hugs to all xx

TOTAL REMAKE OVER NIGHT

After posting the pictures of Blue Moon Progress l realised the second half didn't look right!
l'd used a different hook and it was shrinking, was hard and l wasn't happy with the look

So a total remake over night, while looking for the hook l had used originally
I found my 12mm hook under the sofa thought it an omen so remade
Blue Moon using the 12mm and 65 sts

It's growing a lot quicker....is lighter softer and more textured looking
HAPPY NOW!
same stripes......l undid one row at a time and remade it into the new blanket
Surprising how each row used a different amount of yarn...my tension must be very erratic hehe
Just a few ends left over that will be made into small flowers so nothing wasted

DIET UPDATE
How big is your box?
1st Jan 2011....it measured just over 14" x 13"
5th Jan 2011......it has shrunk to 14" x 12"
and l've gained a new hobby...cooking!
I'm really really enjoying all the cooking....
When l 1st got married l cooked a lot.....but gave up because of my ex MIL....another story!
Every recipe l've tried has been wonderful....always a good incentive to do more
well done WW.....A Fabulous book and a great sale buy!

I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to loose a few pounds

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone
hugs to all xx
