PATTERN POST: SHADED HEX.


SHADED HEX PATTERN:

US Terms 
YARN:
DK OR ARAN, 4 COLOURS REQUIRED, 
Cream and 3 Graduated shades of one colour required

HOOK:
4mm for dk, 5mm for Aran

Finger wrap of 5 wraps 1st col. cream
ROUND 1: cont. col 1. ch3 counts as fist tr, 1tr, into circle, ch4 repeat 2tr, ch4 to end, sl st, to complete. [6pairs of tr]

ROUND 2: Col. 2, lightest of the shades, att, yarn in an ch4 sp, ch2, counts as first dc, 1dc, ch2, 2dc into same sp, 1dc into next 2 sts [top of tr], 2dc, ch2, 2dc into next ch4 sp, repeat to end, sl st, to complete. [6dc each side of hex]

ROUND 3: Col.3, mid shade of chosen col. att yarn in ch2 sp, 1dc ch2 1dc in sp, 1dc in next 6 sts, repeat for each side, to end, sl st to complete. [8dc each side]

ROUND 4:Col. 4, darkest shade of chosen colour, att yarn in ch2 sp, 1dc, ch2, 1dc, in sp, 1dc in next 8sts, repeat to end, sl st, to complete. [10dc each side]

Join as you go: Sl st, in each st of first completed hex, as you complete each dc, along one side.


Play with the colours and add triangles for  star pattern

similar basic hex with triangles added 



 work on paper and play with the combinations of diamonds too...
