I've decided to do a pattern for my daisy centre doily.
Its not a difficult pattern in terms of sts, but it does require some concentrations and thought as to which round you are on and the combination of sts.
Its not a difficult pattern in terms of sts, but it does require some concentrations and thought as to which round you are on and the combination of sts.
As the ch sts, change and there is an increase then a decrease to think about too.
So please read the notes and give the 'At a glance instruction" a read first
it should help along with the pictures.

Lovely pattern, Sue and that centre is particularly pretty. I prefer working in US terms, because that is what I learnt crochet in, but it's nice of you to put in the UK ones for those who prefer them!
ReplyDeleteSomehow, the US terms seem more logical!
I love this! I'll give it a try as soon as I find some decent yarns, thanks for sharing! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Suz!!! I can't wait to get home to compare your pattern to the one I wrote out from the photo you posted in July. I liked this daisy so much, I printed out a copy of the photo, and sat down and traced out your stitches to write down the pattern. I've used this to create motifs for a bedspread in mixed bright colors that mimic your style. I keep this project at my mother's so I will have something to work on when I visit and need something to keep my hands occupied when chores are done. She goes on and on at what a pretty pattern it is. She doesn't know the finished product will be for her. Thanks for posting!!! Also, your new spinning motifs are beautiful as is the triangle ones!!
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, did you miss it in July then...its always been there I just updated it with a few more pictures if you look at the comment dates? Any way I would love to see some pictures if you have any, maybe add it to the Fans of my books/pattern I do every month? Your Mum will be over the moon then when you have finished it for her...
DeleteThank you the Spinning top Hex was another started in 2013.....oops! better late than never as they say...STH is growing fast, once i start on it i can stop.
Have fun and thanks xx
Hi Suz!! I have been working on my daisies off and on since I first commented. I have 14 of them finished using 6 or 8 colors in 7 color combos. I now have to decide if I want to do another 6 of them to have enough for a full sized afghan, or to just make a couple more before joining into a smaller, sofa-sized one. No, I didn't see the pattern in July, I just saw the nice photo. I have a copy now, though, and will probably use it again in years to come.
ReplyDeleteI saw the recent post about Ewes Cabin. This is 'almost' my idea of heaven. A room full of yarn with an ocean view. All that is missing are a couple of cats, a pot of strong coffee, and a comfy over-sized chair.
AS always, thanks for sharing your work and patterns.
From your USA, State of Georgia fan.
Hugs,
Christine
Hi Christine, sounds fabulous, hope you are blog posting a record of the make? I would love to have a picture for a fans post when you have finished? The Ewes Cabin was a fab shop. You are very welcome love to share a pattern or two xx
