Sad News..5 deaths on the Majesty

So sorry to hear there has been 5 deaths on the Majesty....the ship we are having our holiday on.

They were doing a life boat test and the cable broke somehow and it
killed 5 crew and injured another 3

We have friends on board at the moment too. No idea yet if it will sail again this week or if it will be check and ready for sailing again by the time we are supposed to board.

Not that that is anything compared to the loss of 5 families..so very, very sad to hear this on the News last night.....hope the injured 3 recover and thoughts to the families of the lost men

  1. Oh my gosh Sue! I heard it on the news and I thought of you dining with the captain... I thought you were already on the ship...
What a terrible thing to happen. I hope you can soon enjoy your holiday though. Love from Mirjam.

  3. How awful..only just saw this post. I hope it all works out for your trip. So very sad, especially involving something which was supposed to be enhancing safety. Maybe they will put you on a different boat? Good luck

  4. What a shame. Cruise ships can have big problems. There is another one that is floating without power, no restrooms, etc. I hope you get to go on your trip. Teresa

    1. Very sad situation Phil's work mate is on board Thai week too from what's been said Thomson are arranging for everyone to return home as this weeks cruise has obviously been cancelled,
We are being given update if future cruises are being cancelled, they can't set sail until all has been checked and they are given the al clear.
Not a happy situation for anyone x
