Felt Flower Rug

crochet a simple flower first then pop them into the washing machine to felt i used 

Filz Felting yarn 

Felted flower notes

Can't find the pattern for this exact flower but from the pictures I think the pattern should work
Filz-it Felting wool is the yarn I used for the big flowers.

Another unbranded one slightly finer felting wool for the smaller ones

 Filtz-it says 9mm Hook
Finer Wool, probably a 7mm hook

PATTERN for 8 petal flower

US Terms 
Chain 6, sl st into a circle or a finger wrap of 4 wraps 
Round 1: 12sc into circle sl st to complete round (12 sts)
Round 2: 2sc in each st. sl st to complete round (24 sts)

Round 3: petals: Change colour,  Ch2, 1dc in first st, in second st, 2dc, in third st, 1dc, 2ch, sl st, into same st. (8 petals)

Sl st into 4st and repeat until you have 8 petals, sl st to complete round

wash in machine 40 degree wash

shape and dry

Layer flowers and add a large decorative, black button or leave without.

RUG:

The plan was to make a rug of them but they got used for all sorts of decorative projects..might make a new version for my new kitchen in shades of grey 

R.I.P. A SAD CROCHET TALE

If you've been following me from the early days of my crochet blog then you might remember this lovely felted bag i made...

It was my first crochet/felted bag

Sorry to say its just been CREMATED....

I think I found the cause of my 

MOTH PROBLEM

didn't want to take any chances so it was all burnt together with several balls of yarn too

very sad

I Loved this little bag 

FELTING: Some left over felting yarn...

Made some Edinburgh Flowers while in Edinburgh....and i've a few buttons in the washer as i speak

No idea what will come out yet

the flowers felted well...

 The cream yarn I thought was felting yarn wasn't.....so just went fluffy but i love them as much as the felted ones

Not done much felting for a while rings and pebbles for a fe years ago 

WASH-FILZ IT ROVING AND YARN

You can get Filz-It from lots of places but l get mine from ABAKHAN

and l buy quite a few balls when it's in the sale....although USA prices are even bettwr for those of you wanting it over there..lucky you

They also do the roving but l've never used that had my roving off Ebay and a local fibre artist

House view at 10.30 and l was going to the Colinette Mill after but may go another day 'cos of the snow!!

7.I will not stock up on more craft supplies just because they are on sale.
8.I will not go off on a tangent when anyone mentions that little word 'import'
9.I will not let my crafting distract me from fixing dinner.
10.I will not stay up all night crafting.
11.I will not save dryer lint,empty cereal boxes,detergent scoops etc.
12.I will not buy every craft magazine I see.
13.I will not make promises I cannot keep...see you at a craft show

A POEM FOR

BUNGALOW PROBLEMS AND A FAT BOTTOM TO BOOT

Bungalow wins so far but again we still need to sell this first....HIP done board up papers signed so a waiting game now!!

Ran out of grey wool!!....so l started another FAT BOTTOM BAG with yarn l know l had plenty of but.........it still needs a handle

Going to make one l think but not decided what sort yet Wooden? crochet covered plastic?

The multi pastel COLINETTE YARNS l had lots of.....must go to the mill it's not that far away

Kathryn your felting yarn eventually turned up......today!!!!....so definitely won't be ready for your birthday but it will be ready for your next visit.....can't wait hugs x

MY 1ST FELTED BAG IS FINISHED....WHEY HEY!

Photos are bad electric light wasn't good enough but its 3 months since l started it and now its finished

I LOVE IT

hehehehe l've taken it to bed with me even though it's only just out of the washing machine and still very damp but.....

l'm just soooooo chuffed with the finished result l want it to be the 1st thing l see when l wake up...

silly but even at my age l can still be excited by the simplest of things lol

THANKS ABAKHAN...so fast next day delivery of 10 balls of WAS-FILZ-IT felting wool

I made a flower and its now in the washing machine felting....another hour and l will see how it's felted

Took about half an hour to crochet and l used a 8mm hook and before going in the washing machine on 60E wash it measured 4.5inches (11.5cms)

Like Christmas hehe....cant wait to see what it looks like

Saw this bag on Flickr from Colourmad1 used to make stipey bags just like this almost 40yrs ago!! wow!...inspired me to make a wool sack for all the wools l know l'll have soon...got to get crocheting again now!!
