DAY 22 ADVENT CALENDAR: CROCHET BALLS FOR DECORATION

Simple Crochet bead Ball or Flat puff

to make a ball stuff before decreasing, to make a fat puff no stuffing required.
first crochet ball Necklace I made in DEC. 2009
SIMPLE PATTERN
ROUND 1: Make a slip knot and ch2, 6sc, into second st from hook cont. [6sc]
ROUND 2: 2sc, in each st, cont. [12sc]
ROUND 3-5: 1sc in every st, [12sc]
ROUND 6: decrease 2sctog,  sl st to complete. [6sc]

To make the balls bigger continue to increase 
ROUND 3: 2sc, 1sc, alternately in every st, cont. [18sc]
ROUND 4-6: skin every st, cont. [18sc]
ROUND 7: 2sctog, sc, alternately until 12 sts remain, cont. [12sc]
ROUND 8: 2sctog, until 6sts remain, sl st to complete, [6sc]
For much larger Puffs use 12dc, and then decrease in next round, making the Puff the size you want and decreasing on the second round just a 2 round puff .

Using different weights of yarn and hook size puffs of sc and dc can be made for these Exotic flowers

DAY 19, 20 ADVENT CALENDAR: 25 WAVES FOR CHRISTMAS PATTERN

 22 Waves done 45rows completed
 it's making a fabulous wrap at the moment, so when i get to 25 waves for Christmas day i will stop and wear it for now, maybe at a later date i will continue and make it into a blanket, but it sit beautifully around my shoulders and is very snuggly so i've just got to wear it over Christmas 
Weighs:565grams @22waves
Measures 80" x 16"

25 WAVES FOR CHRISTMAS DAY 
Repeat pattern of 10sts +3 i've made mine 25wave x 10sts each plus 3 

Total base chain is 253 with a stem of 4ch for each dangles at both ends.
Dangle is 8 wraps with 12 hdc in each, sl st to complete

Turn after every row 
3sc, hdc, dc, 3tr, dc, hdc, 3sc, repeat

DAY 18 Advent Calendar PROGRESS ON YESTERDAY PATTERN

Every row has a dangle each end.


Yesterday i had done 10 rows today I have managed anther 5 rows so its growing slowly


 Start and finish with a dangle for each row made from 6finger wraps,
 with 12hdc, in each circle

DAY 16 AND 17 ADVENT CALENDAR

Fabulous morning feeding the reindeer yesterday 

This is Holly, looks like she is smiling don't you think? Really gentle animals and they love their moss snacks 
at
WINSTON FARM ELLESMERE wonderful trees too.


Then an afternoon with another WIP...I found a wave blanket that i started and never got beyond a scarf... all from scrap yarn again. I do love scrap yarn blankets in the tradition of granny squares.

A SCRAP YARN WAVE BLANKET
Aran and Chunky yarn 
5mm hook
 it's quite long approx. 80" [203cm] no idea how big it will get yet when the scraps run out? lol
 managed to do 8 runs so far




SCRAP YARN BLANKET
I've made this blanket slightly shorter in stitch count its a repeat of
chain stitch base MULTIPLES OF 10sts
ROW 1: 3sc, hdc, dc, 3tr, dc, hdc, 3sc repeat
turn
ROW 2: sc in every st.
repeat rows 1and 2

DAY 15 ADVENT CALENDAR

BASIC MINI GRANNY SQUARES
Perfect for using up the smallest of yarn left overs
this mini granny uses approx. 5' of yarn for each square. 
For me that's from hand to hand stretched out, approx. my height 

US Terms, dk, 4mm hook

wrap 6 times around finger, hold firmly and slide off

 do all stitches into the ring of loops
 3dc, ch3 repeat for 4 sides sl st, to complete, 
join as you go using the 2nd ch st, in each corner
 Front
 Back

open join in pastel Cotton yarn from 2011, with  4dc , ch3 repeat for 4 sides





2018 AURORA SCRAF VERSION
left over Aurora dk yarn, 4mm hook

AURORA dk is a shaded yarn, i'm working in a 6' length and then staggering the colour so the pink is in the middle of the second row and at the ends of the first row of mini granny squares.
Each square take approx 5' of yarn and measures approx 3/4"

Same finger wrap as above.
ROUND 1: ch1 counts as first hdc, 2hdc, into circle, ch3 3hdc, ch3, 3hdc, ch3, 3hdc, ch3, sl st, to complete.

Join as you go using the 2nd ch st, in each corner.
For 2018 open version join corner to corner not side to side, as in the pastel mini, above.
