SPINNING TOP CAL 2019 PART 1 WITH PICTURES

ORIGINAL SPINNING TOP PATTERN WITH PICTURES 2019 rerun :
US Terms,
UK Terms in brackets

For the rerun of the Spinning Top CAL i have used just 2 yarns, Aran weight in an Aran colour from Pound Stretcher, 25% wool and a real bargain, and Hayfields Bonus Breeze in a Atlantis, a  space dyed yarn so quite a few colours covered in one yarn, less Ends to deal with.

The Colour inspiration was the wallpaper on the craft room wall

Both yarns with a 5mm hook

I've worked the 2 yarns alternate through out

I was going to use this Robin Paintbox yarn but found it difficult to get hold of where as the HAYFIELD Breeze is slightly softer in colouring but very similar and easier to find, but bothe work really well

Designing a motif...

After finding a colour combo you love and want to use, find the motif, thesis the playtime bit I love..experimenting with the colours and the motif you will use, mixing all those stitches you have learnt together

Using the room setting as colour inspiration....play with motifs in those colours
want to try this but with the grey on the 5th round only before deciding but wondered what it would look like in another motif? Same colours but using a spike stitch and a popcorn it could just as easily be the bobble stitch...all old free patterns just mixing them up a bit...

colour inspired from this room setting...

Or you could use the bobble stitch pattern from...2011, add it to stars squares , hex's and it makes a great edging stitch too...

Stars with bobbles..

Bath mat from 2011 in a square version

 As a fab hex...

Then add a spike stitch or two...2010/2011
Use spike stitch evenly or randomly...
