Not been around much just lately sorry another new plant l just could n't resist... looks like waxed card board hehe but stunning
the plaster was removed today to reveal...who knows what?
and l'm not sure it should have been removed there wasn't a single sign of damp
Some ones ooops!!!!!!!
Crochet Bobble Blanket...
Been hiding away from the dust and working on the Red/jade/turq./ lime bobble blanket
doubled in size over the last couple of days
Sorting the cupboards out l found My Mum's box of cutlery all tarnished and black so
l gave it a bit of a polish
Came up quite shiny but not sure l want to be polishing silver on a regular basis!
Enjoy your evening hugs xx
Is it on an exterior wall? In our old house we had a "firewood hole" right about that same size and height! That blanket is coming along marvelously!! Can't wait to see what plant you bring 'round next :)ReplyDelete
the plant is known as Bird of Paradise...ReplyDelete
Actually the plant is a Peace Lily,Anthurium. Very easy to care for and when in bloom quite pretty...ReplyDelete
No, that is not a Bird of Paradise, it's an Anthurium, they have them in Hawaii and the nickname there is "Little Boy", due to the little thing pointing out of it! See here:ReplyDelete
Love the crochet! The stone looks like it might have been once a stone fireplace? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Thanks all..Anthurium is what it says of the label l took a lookReplyDelete
Looks fabulous and l see needs watering every day keeping warm and lots of indirect light
I'll do my best to keep it healthy
Total opposite to the Princettia..only need watering once a week in summer once a fornight in the winter...think l need a watering diary hehehe
Hugs to all x
I CAN HONESTLY SAY I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PLANT IS BUT ITS VERY UNUSUAL LOOKING , LOVING THE CROCHET XReplyDelete
They always look like they're made of wax and not quite real and very dramatic. I've had one for years which lives in the bathroom or conservatory depending on time of year but as yet no flowers since the first batch I bought it with. Any advice on helping it to flower again?ReplyDelete
Stunning colour that plant!ReplyDelete
Oh and your bobble crochet is looking am.a.zing!
It's actually not a "Peace Lily" - which is a Spathiphyllum.ReplyDelete
Suz, I forgot to tell you how much I admire that you have real silver handed down to you. I would love to have some real sterling silver! I do have some mother-of-pearl handled flatware that I love. It's antique.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Hi Teresa yep it's an Anthurium,ReplyDelete
Silver!..l wish it was sterling silver lol
a good make Mappin and Webb but l'm afraid only plated Silver
Karen..no idea just that it needs lots of water but not sitting in it and warm temperatures but not hot, light but not direct sunlight
Oh and it needs regular feeding too...but don't we all hehe
Hugs to all
When my son was a little boy (he now overtowers me!) Anthuriums were the flower he always picked for me at the flower shop. The florists thought it was funny, such a strong passion for such a striking looking flower, when all other kids were getting roses for Mom on Mother's day :)ReplyDelete
My Mom has some too, she's the ultimate green thumb and I'll ask her how she treats hers ;)
The blanket looks fantastic!
Oh and the wall... if it wasn't a window I wonder if it could have been a stone oven...? What a nice discovery!ReplyDelete
