Felted Flowers

Remember these....
middle of 2009 I made them for a rug....
crochet the flower them pop them in the washer to felt...easy peasy lol
made a few more this week with 5 petals and with a random felting yarn still to have a centre added
to go on a couple of small stripy bags, more tweedy looking than the top picture

Have fun x

New Hyperbolic Collar for Winter 2012/13

CLICK POST FOR MORE
The Collar is finished and some flowers on pins but making a selection so I can have a variation from plain collar with a hyperbolic ruffled edge.....

Hyperbolic crochet...one of the first things I made...

....over 3years ago when I picked up the hook again after a long break
click the picture to see more from the last 3years

Still have these some where in the depths of the craft room
2009 I made a few scarves too over the Winter months
This is the first one I made but I think I unpicked it because it was so heavy it made my neck ache
Must make new light one....Some super soft Alpaca in the stash might be cosy.

2010 A SPIKE STITCH VERSION..to go on a cowl a real favourite
Really Loved this spike stitch hyperbolic, hope we have a really cold winter this year and I can make another hyperbolic scarf/cowl shawl, and cover it in Hyperbolic flowers
so snugly
Hairy Hyperbolic's...

The new double Hyperbolic flower I made last night needs a bead centre to finish it off and was made with just a couple of increase rows...looks nicer in the flesh

Happy Hooking Everyone

Freedom
Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.

Living Dangerously....

A shout from Phil yesterday sent me running to the garage....MEN!!!
He will never ask for help and was struggling to get Bertie's body high enough to get the chassis back underneath
Health and safety would have shut him down hey? hehehe
Together we managed with a few wobbles to get Bertie back together again, well almost
bit frightening at times but we got two metal poles under both front and back so if it it fell it wouldn't go far
so it was up, up,up and down, down, down
Not quite there yet but Phil needs to add some rubber seals to it some where..too technical for me hehehe

Looks a bit like a hot rod at the moment lol
At least it is solid again and a lot less lacy!

SOMETHING ERIE THOUGH THE BEDROOM CURTAINS...got me out of bed to a sky that looked like we were being visited by another world...
STAYING WITH THE HEX SHAPE FOR THE BOBBLE THROW
Don't like the jagged edge on 2 sides with trying to make a rectangle so a large Hex it will be
made 15 moifts yesterday and l'll add them today
Growing slowly

Have a Super Sunday everyone
Hugs to all xx

BACK TO FREEFORM CROCHET FOR ME

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called. ~A.A. Milne

SOMETHING ORGANIC AND EXCITING GREW ON MY HOOK LAST NIGHT...the exciting bit before the taste of honey I think...
and it grew...
back to January when i decided to go more organic and freeform again

New Beginnings

by Gertrude B. McClain

It's only the beginning now
...a pathway yet unknown
At times the sound of other steps
...sometimes we walk alone

The best beginnings of our lives
May sometimes end in sorrow
But even on our darkest days
The sun will shine tomorrow.

So we must do our very best
Whatever life may bring
And look beyond the winter chill
To smell the breath of spring.

Into each life will always come
A time to start anew
A new beginning for each heart
As fresh as morning dew.

Although the cares of life are great
And hands are bowed so low
The storms of life will leave behind
The wonder of a rainbow.

The years will never take away
Our chance to start anew
It's only the beginning now
So dreams can still come true.

Something Organic on the hook...

Started with a few random circular shapes and it grew
centre to the star blanket perhaps?

New front door...and it opens with out the kick feature!

Eventually we managed to save enough for the new Oak front door.
and it just glides open with no more kicking it to get it open lol
bit of a difference from the old one..
Thanks Stewart, you were a dream to have around fitting it.
Oh! and the 3 interior oak doors too, now i can get the wallpaper up in the hallway that has been sitting on the kitchen work top since May.

Went for the retro leaf design in the end..bottom left
I am not putting it every where just going on the stair wall both sides, with may be one of the colours on one wall at the top of the stairs....but still thinking on that one.

Starting to think about Christmas decorations too....sorry but need to start early and plan ahead lol

Bertie 2 years later, The yellow peril.....

CLICK the picture to see more...
Almost a couple of year back Phil bought an old 70's VW Beetle called Bertie
He was in a very poor state, actually I referred to lace I think when I first took a look, really did think Phil had made a huge mistake in taking him on
but....in the last couple of weeks Bertie has started to shine, still a long way to go but all I can say is..

WELL DONE PHIL XX
My help was with cleaning the seats up ready for when the interior is finished...
Certainly clean......not perfect but for 40+ year old seats, not that bed either.
I take my hat off to you Phil a job well done
hugs xx
