CROCHET: The Carousel, a requested pattern

THE CAROUSEL PATTERN
4mm hook
Merino with its springy texture works best with this motif

A one finger wrap of 4 wraps,

ROUND1: Continue in same colour, ch3, counts as first tr [dtr)

3dc, [tr),

1tr, [dtr] ch5,

1tr, [dtr]3dc, [tr], 1tr, [dtr] ch5, 1tr, [dtr] 3dc,[tr] 1tr, [dtr] ch5,

sl st, to complete

make 6 mini triangles in different colours joining at the points to make a hexagon.

NOTE: If you join as you go into the ch5 loops only they will move around, i would do the join into the 3rd ch st, of the ch5 loop,
then the loops won't slip and cause distortion.

FINISHING ROUNDS
ROUND 1:attach yarn in any triangle corner, ch2 counts as first dc,[tr] 1dc [tr] into same ch sp, 1dc [tr]in next 5 sts, 2dc [tr] ch2, 2dc [2tr] in next ch2 sp, repeat for each side, sl st, to complete. (9dc each side)

dc [tr] in next 9sts, 1dc, [tr] ch2, 1dc [1tr] in ch2 sp (corner)

repeat for all sides and finish in the last corner, sl st to complete.
(11dc each side)
Join as you go with all the hexagons to make a blanket.

ADD A SMALL FLOWER TO THE CENTRE
A magic circle
Round 1: ch2, 2dc, (2tr), into the circle, ch2, sl st into the circle, repeat 3 more times to make 4 petals, pull magic circle tight and tie or stitch the flower to the centre of the carousel

The Carousel in Merino measures approx.
5.25"(13.5cm) from side to side

JOINING
I don't often suggest that granny squares are stitches together but in this case i think sewing them together could be a idea but use join as you go if you prefer

CROCHET: BELINDA FLOWER PATTERN

Belinda Flower new pattern

Amelia Flower below
Yesterday I played with an old Christmas Decoration I designed in 2013....
and came up with a new design I'm calling
AMELIA FLOWER
I played with colour and joining 4 together

I added a fill-in motif for the large hole that was created when 4 Amelia's were joined together

I have been modifying two of the original Christmas Decorations...
the four point and the 6point the new 'Amelia Flower' came from the 4 point

6Point Christmas Decoration has become the
'Belinda Flower'

The first option would be great as an individual flower with 6 separate petals, but a little crowded and not easy to join together.
BELINDA
 Flower mark 1.

Amelia and Belinda mark 1 below similar size
Belinda mark 1 would be great as a layered flower...

layered with the Amelia Flower

A less full version, worked better when joined together

side by side the Belinda mark1 and Belinda final design
The only difference from the original Christmas decoration is in the 4th round, but they look very different
