The girls and boys from RUNNING STITCHES.

If you follow my blog you will already know that Anne Purdham an on line friend on Facebook and who runs the Facebook group RUNNING STITCHES asked if she could use one of my flower patterns, she had made and wore a flower bra in the race and was on the cover of a local newspaper last year, with a fabulous picture.

I told her the pattern and all rights was hers and the groups to use in what ever way they could to raise a few extra pounds for the race, some donated and bought a copy of the pattern and made their own flower bras, some bought the pattern and made pairs of flowers for those who didn't crochet and sold them......

But didn't they do well? I hope Stylecraft yarns will give them some publicity too as Stylecraft yarns were used for most of the flowers.....perfect yarn for that flowery bra don't you think?

I donated a the flower pattern to this group of girls and some boys called Running Stitches a few months ago, so they could sell the pattern and make the flowers to wear in the KIRSTE 5 MEMORIAL RACE......next year we have a new idea for the flowers...so watch this space!

The Kirste 5 race was yesterday and what a fabulous day they all have the sun shone and all the girls and boys and children and even a a dog or two raced, one call Benji wore his crochet Flowers with pride....the pattern and making of the Kirste 5 Flower raised a extra pound for the Charity......not exactly sure yet how much but i will add this figure when we know.

Some of the fantastic pictures I already have to share with you, what a line up girls...
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS DARLINGS

Anne is number 33 crossing the finish line with her friend and I believe shaved a couple of minutes off her usual time..well done Anne

sorry girls don't have all your names yet but you all deserve a gold medal

we mustn't for get the running though....so impressed with you all well done and i promise to be there next year to cheer you all on.

I think there was around 30 members of the group who took part complete with their flower bras.

this is Graham, Annes hubby, even he was game enough to wear Annes old flower bra from the yer before, she insists he was happy about it hehehe...well done Graham

STYLECRAFT BATIK...Blog Stars team

There are a number of Stone washed yarns around but Stylecraft Batik is different because it has a wool content instead of being a cotton yarn.

I presume it's created in a similar way as you create Batik fabrics hence the name.....must ask and let you know

It's a very springy yarn that fills the space well and looks very textural, I just love the effect you get from this yarn.

It makes up in several motifs from mini exotics....not made any of these for a while

to Mandalas

to granny squares

or triangles and flowers

in 16 fabulous colours

50g balls at just £2.10 a ball

so many different options to play with...

LOTS more to come...

Did i say I LOVE THIS YARN!

Some LOVELY ideas appearing from the BLOGSTARS team too
check them out see what they are all making

FABULOUS WEATHER AND ANOTHER GREAT WEM V.O.I RALLY...

Fabulous day out yesterday with another Wonderful Shropshire show in WEM this time....

The blanket I added another row of hex's too while at the Rally...Mr T getting in on the photo this morning

V.O.I RALLY WEM SHROPSHIRE
We've registered our place in the show for next year already. It's the V.O.I show....don't know what that means?

The weather was fantastic and lots of friends came too and we sat around enjoying the gorgeous sunshine with ice creams thanks Andy and the odd pint or two....all afternoon.

We took part in the 12 o'clock parade with out 1976 Camper called Noo Noo.

Talking to one of the judges, he told us the show had 150 registered cars last year and over 300 actually turned up, this year over 300 registered and they didn't know how many would actually turn up on the day....lots just looking at the fantastic selections of wonderful historic cars, tractors, commercial vehicles and campers

Some fascinating stories with some of the wonderful cars...a Cadillac at the show was 103years old. And several from 1920/30's ...and every year you could possibly want to see.

Noo Noo Camper
A basket of yarn, well you can't go out for the day without at least a dozen colours can you?

I managed to add a completerow of hex to the Hex blanket I'm making in all wool mix and acrylic dk ends of balls....randomly picked and joined as you go

Taken in todays sunshine....going to be another scorcher and even hotter tomorrow they say!
