Thanks for a fabulous September workshop

Thanks to all who attended the September workshop, a fun filled and creative weekend.....and thanks for the return bookings

All my workshops until May 2020 are now full you're all amazing thanks x

NEW CHRISTMAS ROSE MOTIF AS PROMISED....

A pretty Flower motif that has a secondary lacy pattern that appears as you join the squares together....one of the designs i offered to Simply Crochet for their Christmas special they picked my favourite of the 4, the one I thought best for the brief.  
This is one of the other 3 designs.

So I am sharing it as a freebie to say thank you for all the support from all you fabulous hookers out there that follow me here and on my terrific Facebook group


4 Cols. needed each round a different col.
Use any shade of green for the last round and colours, reds, blue or yellows for the first 2 rounds, have fun with colour. 

dk 4mm hook
Aran 5mm hook
US Terms

CHRISTMAS ROSE PATTERN:
Finger wrap of 6 wraps
the first holding st, counts as the first sc of the 12

ROUND 1: 12sc into circle wrap, sl st, to complete

ROUND 2:  change col. 2tr in the first st, 1tr, 5ch picot, 1tr in the next st, 2tr in next st, ch5 picot in the next st, 2tr in next st, repeat, to end. 
You should have a 5ch, picot every 3rd st. [8 x5ch picots, 24r]
ROUND 3: att. 3rd col. with a sc, in the top of any middle tr, ch8, sc, into top of next middle tr, repeat to end, sl st to complete. [8 x ch8 loops]

ROUND 4: This is the join as you go round, Complete the first square then add the next square to the first with a sl st, replacement for the 3ch of each picot before completing the picot st, and the 5th ch of the corner loops, join from the front to the back.
att. 4th col. in any ch8 loop, ch2 counts as first dc, 2dc, ch5 picot, 2dc, ch5 picot, 3dc into first ch8 loop, ch9 [corner] *3dc, ch5 picot, 2dc, ch5 picot, 3dc into next 2 ch8 loops, ch9 [corner], repeat from *to end, finish with 3dc, ch5picot, 2dc, ch5 picot, 3dc in last ch8 loop, sl st to complete. [4sides and 4 corners]

Join at the picots and ch9 corners to make the secondary lacy pattern

HOW TO DO THE CH5 PICOT:
I know one or two find picot stitches a little daunting to do but it really is an easy stitch to do when you one where to put the hook to complete the stitch...

but it shows you where to put the stitch to complete the picot stitch

CUSHION CAL: NO. 10 CIRCULAR CUSHION PART 2 INFILLS

Thanks for the phenomenal response to the Cushion cal, I am working on making it into a blanket. Each approx. 16" motif weights around 95g so allowing 100g for individual tensions 


 Part 2 is the diamond shape infill

 Tip to tip it will be approx. 16" across
Aran special and Alpaca tweed for 2 colours

Feel free to pick your own colour combination but if you want to follow my colours exactly follow the 2 colour charts below...

OPTION 1:
Part 1 Centre motif:
cloud blue
pistachio
sage
parchment
rose
spice
saffron
denim
duck egg

Part 2 Diamond/spear infill
spice/rose
sage/pistachio
sea breeze/saffron
pistachio/raspberry
parchment/sage
saffron spice
gold/pomegranate
raspberry/denim
pomegranate/gold
repeat a second time

OPTION 2: 
Part 1 Centre motif 
spice
saffron
pomegranate
rose
parchment
denim
cloud blue
pistachio
gold
Part 2 Diamond/spear in fill
rose/sage
denim/pistachio
spice/denim
gold/sea breeze
saffron/rose
pistachio/spice
sage/ pomegranate
raspberry/camel

 A simple little 2 round diamond/spear shape infill 

YARN: Aran to give this size of cushion
 5mm hook



DIAMOND/SPEAR SHAPE INFIL  
TIP: Can i suggest beginners do one with out the join as you go to get the feel of the pattern before trying to join it, but if you feel able to go ahead and join as you go with the first then have fun

PATTERN
A finger wrap of 5 or 6 wraps



ROUND 1: 12sc, [12dc], into the circle

ROUND 2: Starting at the outer point, ch6, counts as first tr [dtr] and ch3 point,
1tr [1dtr] into the first st, 


1dc [1tr], into the next 3 sts,



dc [tr], ch3, dc [tr], into the next st, (side point),


1dc [1tr] into the next st, 1dc [1tr], ch3 1dc [1tr], into the next st (bottom point) 


1dc [1tr] in the next st, 1dc [1tr], ch3, 1dc [1tr], into next st, (second side point), 


complete with 1dc [1tr], in next 3 sts, 

sl st into the ch 6 loop, to complete



NOTE: Use the second ch st on each point to join the diamond/spear to the dip and points of the shells of round 9 of part 1.

AMAZED.....how many awesome variations you are creating

The Carousel is moving along at a fast pace...dozens and dozens of beautiful Part 1 motifs are appearing on the 

over 4,000 have joined the fun so far and more join up daily

One or two are mentioning standing stitches? if you don't now what they are then keep going with the rest of the CAROUSEL..you never know what you might learn!
