Free Form Trellis wrap/cowl

Still doing a huge sort out and came across this 

 Festival FF Trellis wrap 

Remember these from 2015?

I'd forgotten i added some to a FF Trellis wrap, its got popped into the sample box to be discovered at a later date...

Diamond Festival Bunting..didn't know what to do with them really in 2015, another sample, [hundreds in my 20+ sample boxes], part made into a wrap/scarf

I had forgotten all about adding them to a Free Form Trellis wrap also only part made

enough to finish it...came to light because of the FF Trellis wrap in Hayfield Spirit..seem also discontinued..i really do need a sort out don't i?

But its says on Ravelry this Wendy Festival Chunky yarn is  still available but its years old so you might find it a little difficult to find now but such a pretty yarn

Hayfield Spirit FF Trellis wrap with flower trim

Funny how you repeat favourite shapes and patterns, this is the one I started months ago and never completed...same FF Trellis pattern dk no chunky as above and a 48 base chain in stead of a 68 for the dk....now find the yarn is out of stock everywhere...nooo!
Although i think you can still get it in chunky...looks like a cowl not a wrap then and i finish the Festival version..lots of that in the stash

SIMPLY CROCHET CHRISTMAS COWL...original design

Do you remember the Simply Crochet cowl I did for Christmas 2017, in a beautiful 

Debbie Bliss yarn

Well....still sorting through loads of samples I found the original design its been made in 3 colours of Wendy Aurora 

This was the original design from 2017, i adapted to the yarn requirements of the Simply Crochet Christmas Cowl project, 

basically its US terms here.....the Golden 3 row pattern made into a 6 square, triangle for the ends of the scarf, with a 6 stitch ripple, miss 3sts, for bottom turn, and 2dc, ch2, 2dc, for the top turn.

Love the strong Colours in the 3 balls of Aurora i used.

Edged in Ionosphere, using one of the edging stitch in the Simply crochet cowl pattern.

I did say i would have completed the Alternative Solid Granny Square Blanket for you today , but i did the 2" border but want to try a flower edge finish 

and I just ran out of time last night...later or tomorrows post, promise.

But here is a wonderful stitch to try in a Cowl pattern...

One group of my favourite stitches, interlocking stitches...mix plain with space dyed yarn or two shades of space dyed yarns together to get some fabulous effects....enjoy

LAYERED FLOWER DECORATION
US TERMS
dk, 4mm hook
Black centre, 2 rounds of coloured petals

Magic circle
Round 1: ch2, counts as first dc, 11dc into circle, sl st, to complete [12dc]
Round 2: cont in black, ch3, miss a st, sc, into next st, repeat to end sl st, to complete. [6 xch3 loops]
Round 3: att. petal colour, in any ch3, loop, ch2, 5dc, into loop ch2, sl st into loop, sl st, into next ch3 loops and repeat in each ch3 loop. [6 x 7dc, petals]

Round 4: cont in same colour, ch3, sc, between first round of petals, ch3 sc between next 2 petals, repeat to end. [6 X ch3 loops]

Round 5: att second petal colour, in any ch3, loop, ch2, 7dc into same loop, ch2 sl st into same loops, sl st into next loop repeat for all 6 petals, sly t to complete. [6 x 9dc, petals]

Leave a long end to sew on a pin
Make 3 and pin close together on the cowl

As the weather is starting to get a little colder in some places in the UK, this is a great easy pattern for those colder days to come...enjoy

PATTERN: Anemone Flower, Wrap, throw, shopper or cowl

ANEMONE, cowl, shopper or throw or wrap

PATTERN HERE

This is a great flower pattern for all sorts of project, you could use just the flower and join them together to make a fabulous throw, 

or use it to edge or decorate a blanket, 

on it's own, joined together 

Used to decorate a blanket in matching colours

add the box and join together in a wrap to throw

Made in a range of pinks and purples they look like the ANEMONE, but could be made in other colours and work just as well

or a shopper

GRANNY RIPPLE COWL with Flower decoration

I decided I loved the sample piece so much it was worth starting again with the ripples running length ways.
US Terms in black UK Terms in red brackets 

I needed 9 ripples @ 23sts = 207 base ch. 
6mm hook and I've used Stylecraft Carnival Chunky in 2 colours

No extra stitches required as I am going to work this long cowl in the round, it will be big enough to hang low on warmer days 
but it is long enough to twist a second time around my neck for the chillier moments of next winter.

4 Complete rounds of 9 ripples weigh approx. 66g 
with a couple of flowers the 
total weight approx. 350/360g


PATTERN:

ch 207 sl st into a circle

ROUND 1: ch2 counts as first dc, 2dc [2tr] into same st, ch3, 3dc [3tr] into same st, (first point)

miss 2 sts, 3dc [3tr] into next st, repeat twice more, 

miss 3sts,(bottom of ripple)  picture below

3dc [3tr]into next st, miss 2sts, 3dc [3tr] into next st, miss 2sts, 3dc [3tr] into the next st, miss 2 sts, 3dc, [3tr] ch3, 3dc [3tr] into next st, start of the next ripple repeat the full ripple of 8granny shells to the end, sl st to complete. (9 full ripples)

Granny Tip: st, mark each dip as you reach it...makes it easier on a long run of ripples to keep track, remove before adding the final finish round 18

Round 2- 15: sl st into the next sp, 3dc, ch3, 3dc into top points, 3dc (granny shell) into side spaces, and miss the bottom space to create the decrease and the up turn

miss bottom space above.

Round 16: change colour and repeat round 2.

Round 17: change back to main col. repeat round 2.

 I like the two finishes so have done one dotty on one edge and on contrast granny shell round on the second edge

To Finish: 
Round18: add a round of granny shells in the second colour to the spaces of the start ch, to complete the second edge of the long cowl.

FLOWER PATTERN
A 2 finger wrap of 6 wraps.

  Round 1: 12sc [12dc] into the circle


Round 2: ch3, counts as first tr, [dtr) 1tr [1dtr] into the same st, 1tr [1dtr] into the next st, ch3, sl st into the same st, sl st into the next st, repeat for all 6 petals, sl st to complete.

FINISH

add a pin the back of each flower add to cowl.

fold the cowl in half so you see both edgings and stay warm.
